Synopsis

In Rosewood, Pennsylvania, four stunningly beautiful girls are haunted by a very ugly past. Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily want nothing more than to forget Alison DiLaurentis, their former best friend who tried to ruin their lives. But someone refuses to let her memory die. A is still out there, lurking in the shadows and digging up the pretty little liars’ newest secrets.

Emily’s reconnecting with an old flame, one baby step at a time. But is she headed toward true love or another bundle of heartache? Spencer’s learning about the highs and lows of campus life on a trip to Princeton. Aria’s seeing a whole new side to Noel’s dad–and it could drive a wedge between her and Noel. And, for better or worse, Hanna’s getting in touch with her inner A.

Secret by secret, lie by lie, the girls get tangled in A’s dangerous web. A knows about everything, from their tiniest transgressions to the awful incident in Jamaica. Soon A will have enough ammunition to pull the trigger and end the pretty little liars, once and for all. . . .

READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. IN THE IMMORTAL WORDS OF RIVER SONG, “SPOILERS!”

Spencer, Emily, Hanna, and Aria are yet again being haunted by the mysterious A. But who is A this time?

A knows one of their biggest secrets- the Jamaica incident. The girls know A will do anything to ruin their lives.

Granted, I missed book 10, and my public library doesn’t have the most fab collection of YA, so I went ahead and read this, anyway. It isn’t hard, because Sara Shepard has a way of reminding you what happened in the last book.

Emily just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. This crazy looneytoon, Gayle, offered her 50 grand for the child, but Emily has realized this woman is straight from crazytown and instead, dropped her baby off on the doorstep of a lovely couple that she had previously been interested in when trying to find a family to adopt.

Aria’s just discovered her boyfriend, Noel Kahn… well, his dads a crossdresser. Yikes. A demands she better break up with Noel or pictures of Mr. Kahn dressed as a woman will go public.

Hanna is pissed because her super cute boyfriend is now dating someone else. That never ends well.

Spencer has framed another girl for drug possession, and now she’s trying to get into an Eating Club at her top university of choice. THAT doesn’t go too well, since A is out to get her.

Oh wow, the secrets just keep coming! So much suspense. Who is the New A? Is it Real Ali, who supposedly died in the fire? Her body was never recovered. And who the hell was Tabitha Clarke, was she and Real Ali working together?

Dun dun dun!

As usual to the series, I whipped through the books in a day. Not something I normally read, but I love the mystery of never knowing who A really is. It took a little getting back into the series since I haven’t read them really since the television show came out and realized how many characters the show made up and how the girls look nothing like their book-counterparts.

  1. Have you watched the ABC Family series? I have the two first books at home, but are a bit curious to wether or not they are good… how is the suspense?

    • Yeah, I love the ABC series. The books have great suspense, you never really know anything until they tell you but you’re suspicious of everyone, ever. Some of the material has been used in the show, but other than that, the girls and situations become totally different after the first couple of books. Like the pilot with finding Alison’s body, that’s the entire book one, and from there it starts to get further apart.
